Transmission
AMV offers some of the most extensive transmission and uplink capabilities anywhere in the world for video, audio, even voice and data traffic. Our recent purchase of Gateway gives us a large satellite teleport facility, with 25 dishes of up to 12 meters. This allows us to access over 50 orbiting satellites. The entire package is supported by a network of fiber optic connectivity, backup generator power, and a large amount of co-location space available for customer equipment.
AMV/Gateway also offers users a robust, fully redundant Sonet Ring network, which includes digital connectivity to and from Vyvx, The Switch, Waterfront and direct connectivity to many New York City locations, enabling us to create a seamless bridge between multiple production soundstages or studios in and around New York and remote locations worldwide, with everything efficiently routed by a 24 hour in-house traffic department.
We also own and operate two additional satellite earth stations — one in St. Petersburg, FL and one in San Diego, CA. Using our extensive connections in the broadcast industry, we're able to successfully negotiate satellite time on behalf of clients, often at a substantial discount, and then transmit those images worldwide. In addition, we own one domestic C Band transponder on AMC 3 and two international transponders on Telstar 11 as well as C-Band and KU-band uplink trucks, many of which have integrated production facilities.
And when you want to transmit HD you can rely on AMV's redundant Tandberg Voyager E5784 encoders. These encoders will operate in either High Definition or Standard Definition modes in 4:2:0. They are fully loaded with AC3 audio, Biss encryption, dolby 5.1 pass through and RAS. AMV also offers Tandberg TT1280 decoders for rental with the encoders.
